Snowstorms, Negative temps, and fevers

Happy New Year!  A month late is better than never, right?

This year has been quite the ride thus far.  We started off the year with tons and tons of snow, which was fantastic.  Until the snow stopped and the temps dropped to -25ish for days.  Sucky!  I realized that was the coldest temps I have ever experienced and not my favorite life experience.  I would run the car for 15 minutes so I could drive the 1 mile to work.  It may seem like a waste, but it was way better than walking the mile to work! Frost bite, no thanks.  Thankfully the temps have warmed back up, it's snowed a little bit since then and is much more enjoyable to be outside.
(The mountains across the Cook Inlet, about 75 miles away.  The cold temps made it easy to see these mountains.)
I went snowboarding last Monday after we had gotten about 18 (more) inches of snow.  It was the best day of riding I have ever had.  The snow was so soft and fluffy that I was just throwing my body around the mountain, falling down all over the place and just having a fantastic time.  My legs were so dead by the end of the day but it was so much fun.
The flu has been going around Little Bears and has finally caught me.  I woke up last night in the middle of the night feeling like I could throw up.  I ended up having a high fever all day today but I think it may be dropping, my body doesn't hurt as much and I don't feel completely drained of energy anymore.  Here's hoping!
Not much else has been happening up here.  Pretty chill which I can't complain about.
Danielle is coming to visit me in April!  I am beyond stoked about that!  And my mom and Earl are going to be up here around my birthday which I am also stoked about.  I can't wait to show all of them Alaska and go on adventures!
In other news I am trying to declutter my life.  I got rid of a bunch of clothes and am in the process of getting rid of more.  Also trying to get rid of things around the house we don't use anymore.  No sense in keeping those things.  It's felt great to get the crap out of my life.  Making space for the things that are important!  Like new clothes and toys for Ruckus!
